In Sfax the market day is Friday; the market place and the main souks are found North of The Great Mosque (on the other side of Rue des  Aghlabites), which is in the centre of The Medina.

The Souk des Etoffes specialiszes in fabrics, including garments to carpets. The parallell street to the left is called Rue des Bijoutiers and holds the jewellers' souk. North of Souk des Etoffes and opposite the Sidi Bou Choueycha Mosque, there is an archway leading into the blacksmiths' souk.

If you turn right out of the blacksmiths' souk and head North along Rue Mongi Slim you will enter the big food market through the slim Medina entrance.
