Carthage International Festival is the country's biggest arts event and mixes a programme of local and international sounds in the old Roman amphitheatre. The festival was founded in 1964 and has, over the years, attracted many of the greatest names in jazz music. The festival also includes many well-known African artists. Performances take place in the old Roman amphitheatre which is incredibly atmospheric and a great place to see live music performed.

On 22nd May many nations celebrate World Biodiversity Day, with different themes each year - in 2008 Tunisia was the focus due to global interest in Tunisia's commitment to work in partnership with local and national stakeholders to preserve and promote biodiversity and their participation in agricultural development.

Each year in Bou Kornine Park there are guided tours and walks to promote and preserve biodiversity, although events such as planting of endangered plant species or talks on various aspects of biodiverstiy also go on all over the country. Those from all walks of society are actively included, such as children, the infirm or the mentally handicapped, although anyone is more than welcome to get involved in the various projects that go on.
